Happy Shavuot!

Weekly Printable Checklist for Shavuot this Week June 5-10

Shavuot is this week, beginning Tuesday evening until Thursday afternoon. I’m not going to give you too much to do as I’m sure you already have a long checklist.

If you would like to learn more about the meaning of Shavuot, visit Aish.com.

My Shavuot 2011 Meal Plan
I’m going to list some of the foods I’ve cooked for Shavuot, we actually don’t make a whole dairy menu, just a dairy cheesecake to eat the morning after my husband stays up all night learning and then for lunch we eat our regular Yom Tov Meat meals.

Here’s my meal plan:

Salads
cucumber mango salad
asian coleslaw
spicy coleslaw
gluten free mock “potato” salad

Vegetables
Spinach kugel
onion kugel
beet and carrot stick “fries”
butternut squash
fried eggplant

Main Dishes
Roast Chicken
Beef Kebabs
Meatballs
Apple Roast

Dessert
Pareve Cheesecakes
Watermelon
Fruit Salad
Strawberry Pareve Ice Cream

I’m not rigid about when I’m serving what, I just will pick one or two from each category and serve it for the lunch meals or the evening meals.

If you’re still cooking and need some recipe inspiration, feel free to email me for any of these recipes. They are very basic and easy, a simple google search for any of them will do. I also really love the website Elanaspantry.com

Enjoy and Happy Shavuot!
