_____ Printable Checklist Tip #1-Contain the items in your cabinets by fitting them into containers that are the same size as your items. For instance, if you are organizing a bunch of little items like loose change, paper clips, rubberbands, you may want to use a muffin tin to separate the items. If you’re organizing a drawer with large, tall appliances, store them in a tall cabinet or drawer. You want the space around the item to fit tightly. Learn more about decluttering cabinets here.

_____ Printable Checklist Tip #2-Make a list of what belongs in your laundry room. Set up zones for folding, ironing, and sorting. Think about your laundry system from start to finish: place hampers where family members take off clothes, think about how clothes should get sorted- are you asking people to sort their clothes in a 3 bin laundry hamper? Or are you collecting everything and then sorting once clothes are in the laundry room? Set up the zones.

_____ Printable Checklist Tip #3– Follow the FAT system for mail. File, Act, Toss! Don’t make the mistake of not opening your mail up immediately. You don’t need to act upon your mail immediately however, just decide which of the 3 categories of F.A.T that each piece belongs in. If you don’t yet have a filing system, open up your mail with a box of manila folders and begin creating categories with the mail that comes in. For items you need to act on, don’t distract yourself right then and there with taking action, put pieces to take action on in a pile on your desk corner or in a hanging file on your desk.

This is MUCH easier than waiting to deal with mail buildup later on!

_____ Printable Checklist Tip #4-Get really good at treating stains on your clothing. Follow this handy Stain removal chart for treating clothing at the bottom of the page.

_____ Printable Checklist Tip #5-Buy a family pack of ground beef this week or ground beef in bulk and brown it the day you bring it back fresh from the store. You can then easily throw it together to make chili, tacos, lasagna, meatballs for subsequent dinners.
