_____ This is going to sound silly, but I have to tell you I live by this! Get yourself a really good pair of sneakers and wear them anytime you need to perform organizing tasks. I’ll tell you that my absolute FAVORITE pair of sneakers are the new Skechers Shape Ups, because something about their technology gives me lots of energy. You’ll be surprised at how much less arduous tasks seem to be because of the bounce in your step.

_____ We all have some tasks that we just hate to do. There are many reasons for this- one is the sense you might have that there is no time limit to them, that they’ll just go on forever. I suggest that you “reframe” the tasks you hate and think of them as what you’ll be doing for the next 5 minutes. You can set a timer and stop after those 5 minutes and I promise they’ll be easier. Dishes and laundry come to mind so instead of thinking of them as chores that go on forever and ever, just do them for 5 minutes without even thinking about what you’re doing. And with your sneakers on, they’ll be fun!

_____ Keep cleaning wipes and a toilet bowl wand and cleaner in each of your bathrooms. Every day, sometimes twice a day, depending on how dirty things look to me, I quickly wipe down the toilet and sink with cleaning wipes and clean the toilet. It’s really easy and you’ll rarely have to deal with grime buildup.

_____ I’m a big fan of cleaning out one drawer every day between Chanukah and Pesach, in order to get ready for Pesach prep. I love drawer separators and one of the very few organizing products that I recommend. You can use soap dishes, shoe boxes, or real drawer separators sold at stores like Target or Bed Bath and Beyond. If you really want to get inspired, take a look inside Martha Stewart’s, they are unbelievably gorgeous!

_____ It’s Rosh Chodesh Kislev. Time to start taking inventory of Chanukah supplies: candles, oil, wicks, decorations, gifts. You’re 25 days ahead of the game so you won’t need to rush into last minute purchases!
