Because Purim is 2 weeks from tonight, our checklist for this week is going to be all about Purim with special resources for you to boot!

_____ Printable Checklist Tip #1-Schedule a family meeting for this week. You’ll need to finalize each of your children’s lists for who they’d like to give mishloach manos to, what they want to dress up as, and what they prefer to pack in their mishloach manos.

I like to do this in stages as my children are young, sitting them down with their class lists and having them put a star next to their really good friends so I know how many to pack goodies for.

_____ Printable Checklist Tip #2-In Purim Perfectly Organized- the PREMIER book on Jewish homemaking for the Holidays, I talk about the difference between a Frugal or Fancy Purim. It’s really your choice! For ideas on making a frugal purim, the absolute best resource for you is going to be Kosheronabudget.com.

For a fancy Purim- replete with amazing table settings, costumes and mishloach manos to match, you’ll definitely want to go to see TheJewishHostess.com.

_____ Printable Checklist Tip #3Plan out your Purim feast on paper. Here’s a Seudah Checklist/chart for you to follow if you would like a guide.

For recipe ideas, you’ll want to check out Jewish-life-organized.com’s own recipe database here at this link: Recipe Database or at Gourmetkoshercooking.com or Koshereye.com. Those are two wonderful sites that have delicious recipes. Tell them I sent you 🙂

_____ Printable Checklist Tip #4-For last minute costume ideas, check out the following ideas over at Creativejewishmom.com or here by my friend Sarah Zeldman of Solutions for Busy Moms.

I’m not sure if you’re aware of another amazing resource by Sarah and that is her Purim Fun Report. I’m going to give you a *FREE* copy right here at this link, be sure to let Sarah know how much you appreciate it by visiting her site and Purimguide.com.

_____ Printable Checklist Tip #5-Remember that this year, Purim 2011 falls out on Sunday, so you won’t have so much time the night before to cook, pack, sew, or do whatever it is you usually do the night before Purim!

The night before Purim this year is Saturday night. Therefore, when you cook for Shabbos, you’ll want to cook extra for your Purim Feast, that way you won’t be spending the whole Purim day preparing for your seudah.

I love that there are so many great Jewish resources on the web that I can refer you to and that I don’t have to write all of the ideas on costumes, recipes, and mishloach manot creative ideas.

It allows me to spend time doing what I do best which is “overseeing” the planning and organizing process.

That’s my secret to success 🙂 – I try to always spend my time on what I do best and delegate or outsource the rest! Remember that in your journey to becoming more organized and efficient.
